ALEJANDRO IMANA

Secretary

Alejandro Imana is a junior at Stetson University and is currently working on his Bachelor's degree in Guitar Performance. After Stetson, Alejandro plans to pursue a graduate degree with a focus in jazz music.

Music for Alejandro began when he was about two years old and was heavily exposed to Bolivian Folkloric dances due to his parents being the leaders of a Bolivian dancing group. He attributes this exposure to be the start of a life full of music. When Alejandro started middle school, he joined choir and when he started high school, he began to learn to play the guitar whilst continuing his involvement in choir. It was only after high school that Alejandro decided he wanted to dedicate his life to music.

Alejandro studied jazz guitar with Stephen Luciano at Seminole State College and is now currently studying classical guitar with Stephen Robinson at Stetson University. Alejandro aspires to teach and perform in the central Florida area and become a supporting role in his music community. Alejandro is the secretary of Instruments of Healing and is responsible for sending email reminders to the rest of the IOH team, updating performance/event logs, and maintaining a strong relationship with the Good Samaritan Society.

LAUREN BAUCUM

President & Founder

Lauren Baucum is a senior at Stetson University working on her Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance. Lauren plans on using the next few years after Stetson to attend graduate school and volunteer in the United States Peace Corps.

Lauren began taking guitar lessons when she was 9 years old but first learned to play the piano and sing. Since she played her first melody on the piano at age 2, she could feel her calling to be a musician. Lauren has a passion for spreading love and goodness to the lives of others and coupling this passion with her passion for music led to her founding Instruments of Healing during her freshman year at college.

As President, Lauren oversees, encourages, and supports all the work done by and for Instruments of Healing. Lauren constantly looks for new ways and new ideas to grow and develop Instruments of Healing and its positive impact on all involved. She maintains communication with Stetson faculty and staff, donors, community partners, and IOH members.

Lauren thoroughly enjoys working to bring people together through shared time and music. She is constantly inspired by the talents, kindness, and generosity of the Instruments of Healing members and the receptiveness and support of the Instruments of Healing community partners.
