A True Inspiration

The first moment when I realized that Instruments of Healing was more impactful than we had ever imagined was when a resident from Duvall Homes came up to the stage during a performance. She asked to play the ukulele. We agreed, and she said she wanted to play "I Want to Hold Your Hand" by the Beatles. It was the most incredible thing, hearing her play and sing and joining along with her. Pretty soon the entire room was singing. Afterwards one of the caretakers said she was shocked because she had no idea the woman next to her could sing and that she had such a beautiful voice. It was amazing that almost everyone in the room knew the song; it shows the miracle of music and the value of a timeless song.
